Warning: Fake RESCert certificates are in circulation.

Some installation companies falsely claim to be RESCert-certified. Always request a valid certificate of competence from the certified individual. If you have any doubts about the authenticity of a certificate, please contact info@rescert.be.

What is RESCert?

Within the framework of European and regional legislation, the Flemish Region, the Walloon Region and the Brussels-Capital Region have established a system for the training and certification of reliable and competent installers of renewable energy systems.

The RESCert temporary association was established to manage certification applications from installers in the three regions. Certificates of competence are personal and are issued to natural persons, not to companies.

The certification system covers seven technology categories:

  • Photovoltaic systems;
  • Solar thermal systems for domestic hot water;
  • Solar thermal systems (combined systems);
  • Centralised biomass installations (biomass boilers);
  • Decentralised biomass heating stoves;
  • Heat pumps;
  • Superficial geothermal systems.

Further information about the different certificates can be found on the Certificates page.
